"Ground reaction forces during gait are strongly related to biomechanical and neurological conditions of the human body, which enables gait analysis as a powerful tool for many clinical applications. On this thesis, the design, development, characterization, and deployment of a sensor footwear to monitor ground reaction forces during gait is presented. Furthermore, we present a self-calibrating algorithm that adapts the force measurement range of the sensors according to the maximum force applied by the user. Additionally, software was developed to acquire and preprocess GRF measurements for further analysis on future work."
